Riker: Dog found locked in a crate

Riker has spent almost the entire two years of his life locked in a crate, separated from everyone he loved. When authorities were notified of his situation, they seized him and took him to the Animal Control in their town. Unfortunately for Riker, he was now in an overcrowded Texas shelter with almost no chance of getting out alive. The team there totally fell in love with his happy-go-lucky attitude and his affection for all things human and canine, so they reached out to Wright-Way Rescue in an effort to get him placed for adoption. Who could say no to that face??

Riker has made the long trip to Wright-Way’s Morton Grove Adoption Center and is ready to finally have a real home, a family to love, and one that loves him.

Your donation this Giving Tuesday helps us save dogs like Riker. We can not help them without your help.

Patches from Arkansas

Patches is a 9-week old Border Collie mix who was found alone on the side of a road in rural Arkansas. Thankfully, she was spotted by a passerby and picked up before she was hit by a vehicle. They knew they could not keep her, so after unsuccessfully trying to find her owners, they contacted Wright-Way Rescue to see if we could help find her a loving home.

Patches is extremely sweet and just wants to be loved. She will make a great addition to any family that is looking for a playful, energetic, affectionate puppy.

This Giving Season, please remember Wright-way Rescue and make it possible for us to say yes the next time an abandoned puppy needs our help. Thank you for saving lives with us.

Pumpkin: From Rags to Riches

Pumpkin is a true “Rags to Riches” pup with a fairy tale ending. He was being given away for free on FaceBook in southernmost Illinois. After asking if Wright-Way could take him in, one of our supporters made the trip to get him. At the end of a long driveway, she found a dilapidated, old farmhouse with trash piled all around it and the nearby barn. There were several dogs in a muddy pen attached to the barn with no protection from the elements. Pumpkin had been pulled out, the man holding him picked him up, and tossed him into the crate in the back of her vehicle.

Once in our care, Pumpkin received a bath and all of his medical needs were taken care of. Victoria Zlock at Vroom Vroom Groom donated the grooming and turned him from a “pauper” to a “prince”.

Your support On Giving Tuesday allows us to continue helping unwanted, neglected animals like Pumpkin all year round.

Abandoned Pregnant Dog

Wright-Way Rescue serves areas with little to no resources for homeless animals. When a lady found a pregnant dog at an abandoned house just outside of the city limits of a small town in Arkansas, she called the sheriff to ask for help. When she was told to just shoot the dog, she chose to take her home with her instead. She reached out to a local animal networker who then reached out to us for help finding homes for the puppies once they were old enough.

The puppies are arriving this week for a couple weeks of foster care near our Admissions and Medical Services Campus in Murphysboro. Momma will be spayed and is staying in Arkansas with her finder.

When you make a donation to Wright-Way Rescue this Giving Tuesday, you help make miracles happen for pets like these who urgently need our help.
