Put in your Party Request Today
A typical party goes like this..
Your guests arrive and are treated to an age-appropriate humane education presentation as they begin work on a special “Shelter Buddies” craft activity that will help our animals find forever homes!
During this time, the birthday girl or boy will have the special honor of naming an incoming shelter dog, cat, puppy or kitten. He or she can later track this pet's adoption progress online!
A personal, behind-the-scenes shelter tour is conducted by one of our staff members.
A special animal visitor arrives in the party room for an interactive experience.
Family Party Time! The next hour is when YOU take over and the private family celebration begins! Feel free to bring games, food, cake, and goodies — you can even have pizza delivered to our shelter.
Towards the end of your time with us, you may wish to head back out into the shelter, and hang your special “Shelter Buddies” crafts which are SURE to result in a swift adoption for some of our furry friends!
When you’re done, leave everything and we’ll take care of the clean up!
Frequently Asked Questions
When are birthday parties held at Wright-Way Rescue?
Birthday parties may be scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. You have the option to schedule your party from 11:00AM-1:00PM or 2:00-4:00PM.
Wright-Way Rescue also offers teen parties, for those 13 years old and up. They are held on Saturday evenings only from 5:00-6:30PM.
Why should I hold my child's birthday party here?
Birthday parties at Wright-Way Rescue provide a fun and meaningful experience that are easy to plan. You are free to leave with the knowledge that you have provided your child or family member with an absolutely unforgettable birthday memory and that you supported the animals at Wright-Way Rescue at the same time!
Birthday celebrations at Wright-Way give us the opportunity to show children the power one person has to create significant change for animals.
Can our guests bring things for the dogs or cats?
Absolutely! We encourage all in attendance to bring a donation for our homeless animals. In fact, some of our birthday boys/girls insist that their guests bring gifts for our animals instead of them! Children celebrating their birthday with us who encourage donations will be eligible for recognition as a Wright-Way Rescue Humane Hero and will be acknowledged in our monthly newsletter and on the Wright-Way Rescue Facebook page.
What is Wright-Way Rescue’s cancellation policy for birthday parties?
Wright-Way Rescue adheres to a no-refund cancellation policy since we are reserving the date for your party.
How early can we get into the party room on the day of our event?
You may arrive at the party room 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start of your party to set up. You will be given 15 minutes after your party to remove all personal items, gifts, etc.
Is there a place I can store my items prior to or after my party?
Due to the nature of our shelter environment, we do not have any storage facilities for food or gifts before or after your event.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Wright-Way Rescue is a rain or shine venue. Parties will take place regardless of weather, unless conditions are extremely severe. In this case, we would be happy to work with you to reschedule your party.
Can I bring my own food?
You are welcome to bring in any food that does not require any on-site preparation or storage. No chafing dishes, hot plates, or crock-pots are allowed. Food deliveries are permitted, but Wright-Way Rescue staff members are unable to assist in this process.
What is the minimum and maximum number of guests for a party?
There is no minimum number of party guests; however, the maximum is 12 people. If you are in need of more space, please contact Wright-Way Rescue and we can work with you to provide a larger space.
What do people usually do during the hour in the party room?
For the first hour of your party, Wright-Way Rescue treats your guests to a Humane Education presentation and special “Shelter Buddies” craft activity, a personal behind-the-scenes tour of our facility, an animal visitor interactive experience. After this, you may take full advantage of your time in the party room to visit with family, friends, and guests, eat birthday cake, and open gifts (of course!). You can also bring in your own party games to play.
For teen parties, we also offer Twister with puppies and offer more animal interaction!
May we bring decorations?
You may bring in decor, but it must be limited to the tops of the tables. You may not hang anything from the walls or the ceiling. Streamers, confetti, string-a-can, silly string, inflatables (of any kind), piñatas, etc. are prohibited.
Can a shelter employee help unload and/or cart items to and from my pavilion?
Unfortunately the animals in our program keep us very busy, so staff will not be available to help carry/transport any items to the party room. You are responsible for transporting these items on your own.
Can I request the animals for my animal experience?
Due to the nature of the adoption center, we cannot take requests for specific animals for your experience, we cannot guarantee any particular animal will be at your party, and we cannot tell you ahead of time which animals will be available.
How do my guests find the party location?
The party room is located within the Wright-Way Rescue Adoption Center, to the left (east) of the dog suites upon entering.
Will there be a staff member in the party room during my party?
Our staff will not be present in the party room during the entirety of your party. Staff will check in with you periodically to answer any questions that come up.
Can I bring music to my party?
Yes! We simply ask you to keep in mind that the volume will need to be kept so that the music cannot be heard outside the party room.
Do you have plates and utensils for us to use for our party?
The following will be provided for each person – food plate, cake plate, cup, plastic silverware, napkins.
Will you decorate the party room?
Yes! The room will be beautifully decorated with the theme of your choice – puppies or kittens. The puppy décor consists of lime green, blue, and purple colors. The kitten decorations consist of pink and purple colors. Balloons, banners, table centerpieces and other decorations will be available. The birthday girl or boy is welcome to bring any balloons home. The remainder of the party decorations will remain the property of Wright-Way Rescue.
