French Bulldog Puppy With A Broken Heart

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED TO SAVE THIS FRENCH BULLDOG PUPPY WITH A BROKEN HEART-

Have you heard the phrase “It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog”? We believe this quote was made for puppies like Maytag, who despite all the odds stacked against him, keeps bounding forward with enthusiasm and a wagging tail. 

Overcoming hardships with grace is something that rescue dogs seem to accomplish more often than they should have to. Maytag may be small in size, but he has a big heart. Unfortunately, his big heart is also why he needs YOUR HELP!

Maytag began his life in Arkansas. The inexperienced breeder had intended to sell the litter of puppies for a large profit, but when Maytag’s pre-purchase veterinary exam came back with the devastating diagnosis of a very significant heart murmur, the breeder surrendered him. 

Maytag just arrived at Wright-Way Rescue. Our staff veterinarians have examined him and reviewed his radiographs. They confirmed the diagnosis of a severe heart murmur but also discovered he has an enlarged liver. Now, a more advanced evaluation and diagnostic testing are urgently needed to determine what can be done to give Maytag the best quality of life possible. 

His condition is serious, complicated by his age and growth, and he needs a higher level of care than our staff veterinarians can provide. We have scheduled an appointment at the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital on May 20th where a Board Certified Cardiologist will further assess and hopefully provide a surgical option for little Maytag. 

As you can imagine, specialty care is extremely expensive. We are asking for your help so we can  get Maytag to the University of Illinois to see the specialist and get some answers regarding possible treatments or if there are any surgical options available.
