Petey's Story
In the heart of Southern Illinois is the Wright-Way Rescue Medical and Admissions Campus dedicated to the rescue and care of animals, like Petey.
Petey was surrendered to our facility by his previous owners who were no longer able to keep him. They had multiple unspayed female dogs on their property and did not want to risk having puppies. They planned to release him into the woods if our rescue could not take him.
The staff at our facility was heartbroken to hear Petey's story. They knew that releasing a small dog into the wild would be a death sentence for him. Petey was too trusting and friendly to survive on his own. Our staff immediately welcomed him into rescue and began to assess his needs. Petey is a healthy, well-socialized dog! He is very sweet and playful with everyone he meets. One of his favorite things is to be held over the shoulder, just like a baby! Our staff has quickly fallen in love with Petey, and we know that he will make a wonderful companion.
Thanks to the staff at Wright-Way Rescue and our generous donors, Petey has been given a second chance at life. He is now patiently waiting to find his home! 🐾
