Frequently Asked Questions

How can I adopt from Wright-Way Rescue?

You can reserve a specific pet in advance OR come in during open hours to MEET THEM ALL!

Wright-Way Rescue is unique to many shelters because of its ability to hold pets for pre-approved adopters who make arrangements to meet them. Approved applicants who are seriously interested in a particular animal may place them on reserve to meet once they become ready for adoption. There is NO FEE to place reservation. We do however ask that the potential adopter is serious about meeting this particular pet. If we hold a pet and the person does not show up, that pet may have missed its chance to find a family during the time it was on reserve.

You may email us for an estimated arrival day to see when an animal is expected to arrive to the Morton Grove Adoption Center. Prior to this time, the pets are housed at the Wright-Way Rescue Admissions and Medical Services Campus where they begin to receive necessary medical care prior to adoption.

Reservation and shelter visit RSVPs may be submitted by emailing our team at rescue@wright-wayrescue.org

Please remember that we take only one reservation per pet. Please only set up an appointment if you know you can attend your time, are seriously interested in the pet you are asking us to hold, and please ensure you are ready to add a pet to your home.

How do I get approved to adopt?

You can submit an adoption application to Wright-Way Rescue by filling out either a canine adoption application or a feline adoption application.

PLEASE NOTE: Wright-Way Rescue responds to adoption applications within 48 hours. If you do not receive a reply within this time frame, please check your spam or email rescue@wright-wayrescue.org.

Once approved, your application is good for one year.

Where do I park at Wright-Way Rescue?

Visitors must park in our designated lot at the Wright-Way Rescue Adoption Center or on Lincoln Avenue. We kindly ask you not park on residential streets, including Mason Avenue, to respect our neighbors. To learn more about our comprehensive Parking and Dog Walking Plan, click the button below.

For local residents, with any questions or concerns regarding parking, please contact (773)458-0745 and leave a voicemail, and we will return your call as soon as possible.

How do I make a reservation for a pet?

Once you receive an approval email to adopt from Wright-Way Rescue, you may email our adoption team at rescue@wright-wayrescue.org to submit a formal reservation request.

Please note: An approved application is not a reservation for a specific pet.

Do animals ever travel from the southern Illinois location to the Morton Grove location?
