Babies less than 2 weeks old, left abandoned

These six babies were found abandoned at less than two weeks old. A family took them in but had no idea how to raise puppies that young. They were bottle feeding them with cow’s milk and all of the puppies were getting very sick. A neighbor stepped in to help, got them puppy replacement formula, and contacted our rescue partner in the area. They were only six weeks old when they were put on our transport van and sent to our Southern Illinois facility. They are getting all of their vet care and will be at our Morton Grove Adoption Center so they can start the New Year in their forever home.

Our team works hard to rescue animals at risk of euthanasia simply because they do not have a home in rural parts of our country. We are so grateful for the role you play in pushing our mission forward. Thank you for supporting Wright-Way Rescue.🐾

Unwanted Litter Surrendered in Arkansas

These beautiful puppies were an unwanted litter surrendered to one of our rescue partners in Arkansas. The owners were not able to care for them, so they brought them “out of the woods” to a local shelter. When Wright-Way commits to a litter of puppies, the mother dog is never left behind regardless of medical condition or special needs. However, when owners do not want to surrender the mom with the puppies, WWR guarantees a free spay surgery through our partners in the area.

No Mom Left Behind saves thousands of lives every year. Please consider supporting this program that brings help and hope to so many.

SHE HAD HER FIRST SURGERY!

Merryn was locked in a shed nursing eleven puppies when she was brutally attacked by another dog who was also nursing puppies and locked in the same shed. Her injuries were horrific. For reasons we cannot understand, she was then left without proper medical care for nearly 4 weeks. Merryn had lost the use of both back legs and had trained herself to walk using only her two front legs to avoid pain.

When Merryn arrived at Wright-Way Rescue she had life-threatening infection throughout her body. The bones in her jaw and legs were broken in many places and she was suffering from severe infection.

Despite this, we have never met a dog with such a strong will to live. We are thrilled to report that Merryn recently the first of multiple life-saving surgeries she will require! Part of her infected jaw, which had exposed and dying bone, was removed. She also had her rear left leg amputated. After spending time in the hospital, Merryn has now been released to the care of a trained medical foster where she is recovering. She is doing so much better than we could have anticipated!

Merryn will require at least one additional surgery, possibly two. They are being staged to ensure her safety and well being. Eventually we hope that she will be a candidate for a wheelchair. You are making her miraculous rescue possible and we could not be more thankful.

Cindy Lou and kittens

Cindy Lou and her cuddly kittens will be arriving at our Morton Grove Adoption Center this week. They are catching a ride on our transport from Texas with the other cats, kittens, puppies, and dogs who were all at risk of euthanasia. Texas rescuers and shelters are constantly inundated with stray and unwanted animals and far too few adopters to even make a dent in the numbers. Our work in those areas is the only hope many animals have for a home.

Our team works hard to rescue animals at risk of euthanasia simply because they do not have a home in rural parts of our country. We are so grateful for the role you play in pushing our mission forward.

Thank you for supporting Wright-Way Rescue.

Pups from Tyler Texas

These eight week old lab mix puppies were found by our rescue partner in an Animal Control Facility near Tyler, Texas. They were all at risk of being euthanized due to the overwhelming number of stray and unwanted animals in the area. Texas kills more animals in shelters than any other state, which is why our mission in Rural America is so important to the animals and rescuers there.

Your support sends a message of hope and encouragement to our Rescue Partners advocating to change the way homeless pets are treated in the rural and impoverished communities that Wright-Way Rescue works tirelessly to assist.
