Unwanted litter in rural Arkansas
These beautiful babies were an unwanted litter in rural Arkansas. They were living in an outside pen with almost no shelter from the weather and the owners wanted them gone before winter set in. Our partner in the area reached out to see if there was any room for them on our next transport. We knew that without rescue they had little chance of finding a forever home or even just surviving the coming winter. They are currently with us finishing their two week medical quarantine and getting vaccinated so they will be ready to celebrate the New Year in their homes.
Once we agreed to take the puppies and learned the family wanted to keep the momma, we worked with our rescue partner to try to get the momma spayed. Wright-Way Rescue offers a free spay as part of our No Mom Left Behind Program at our community vet clinics. In cases where they are too far away, we work with our rescue partners to find local options and help cover the costs there.
