Hurricane Harvey Relief

Over the past two weeks, Wright-Way Rescue has coordinated relief efforts to help 26 displaced animals due to the devastating Texas floods. We've already completed three rescues, two by van and one by airplane! With your help, we hope to save as many dogs as we can!

See updates below!

Dogs from southern Illinois have arrived to Morton Grove's Adoption Center! Onto foster they go!

September 9, 2017

Our 3rd group of Texas dogs arrived at the Wright-Way Rescue Admission & Medical Services Campus, where they will stay overnight before heading to Wright-Way Rescue in Morton Grove.

Upon arrival each dog was paired with a volunteer and went on an hour long walk around the 3.5 acre rescue campus. Then, volunteers brought them for a medical exam where they received any updated care that they required.

Each dog is incredibly friendly and affectionate. They all were unloaded from the transport vehicle with wagging tails and kisses for the volunteers! Permanent adoptive homes will be needed for all dogs in the near future!

A HUGE thank you to Watermark Ford Hyundai of Marion with Watermark Auto Group for allowing us to use their transport vehicle and for funding all fuel expenses to and from Texas!

A generous individual took the initiative to organize a crate donation drive to benefit Wright-Way Rescue and assist with the influx of dogs arriving from Texas. These crates will be utilized to transport dogs in vehicles and airplanes, and also to loan to foster homes for house training. We are so grateful for the help!

What an incredible night saving lives! Wright-Way Rescue was at the amazing Austin Pets Alive temporary location loading dogs to bring back to safety in Illinois. The Austin Police Department went above and beyond to help get everyone into the vehicle and safely on their way North.

Today these dogs will be making an overnight stop, and taking a much needed break, at the Wright-Way Rescue Admissions & Medical Services Campus in Southern IL. Then tomorrow they will be making their final trip to Wright-Way Rescue's Humane Center in Morton Grove, where a team of foster homes will be awaiting their arrival.
